For this question I would like to answer from two aspects. The first, the proper body believes that dogs do not know they are dogs in 1970 when Gordon Gallup developed the mirror test based on some of Darwin’s observational data. The mirror test is a test of self-awareness to see if the animal can identify its own image in the mirror. The specific test is that the experimenter marks two odorless paint dots on the experimental animal, and the test paint dot can be observed in the mirror, while the control paint dot can be touched but not observed in the mirror. If the animal has self-awareness of itself, it will find the test dots in the mirror, but if it does not have self-awareness, it will only think that the dots in the mirror are another kind of animal. Today’s animals that pass the mirror test are humanoid species, such as: chimpanzees, gorillas, orangutans, etc. Macaques, bottlenose dolphins, orcas, elephants, etc. have also passed the test. Dogs, cats and human infants fail the test, and humans often do not have this cognitive function until they are 18 months old. There is some debate about the correctness of the mirror experiment, and scientists have invented a way to test dogs’ self-awareness using dog urine. The experimenters found four dogs growing up in a semi-free environment, collected their urine in a container and marked it, and set up a blank sample with odorless skim cotton. Then the dogs were allowed to smell the urine samples and it was recorded that all the dogs smelled other dogs’ urine for a longer time than they smelled their own urine, a performance that confirmed the hypothesis that dogs seem to know their own taste, that they are not interested in themselves and therefore they are self-aware. The second, immodest body dog is a thinking dog when I had a dog in the countryside, this dog will always look at the time of the prank with a very understanding look, more than once I heard it sigh when the prank on it, as if it was a big brother who was spoiling his sister in general. There was once a cold need to go to the clinic hanging water, before leaving asked a dog to go, the dog lazily lying ignored me, and so I was bored hanging water alone, actually saw the dog slowly wandered over! (The clinic did not take the dog to go, it is reasonable to know the road) it circled around me and got down. When I was almost done with the drip, it wandered back on its own, not waiting for me at all …… and so on and so forth, the countryside dog is not taught any skills, natural free-range state, this dog but as if it knows what rules, never into the room, at most in the hall for a while. I had a great time playing with the little girl at the clinic after the drip, and had taken the dog to play behind. We two girls in the room happily playing with the phone, the dog will stay outside lying down, time is estimated to be bored, in the door circle from time to time to look at me, until I found it after greeting, it went home again …… many dog owners think their dogs may think they are people this example in the knowledge can see a lot of. Many dogs do things that are beyond human expectation.
