The standard Kunming has a large head, a wide face, a short mouth, and a large distance between the ears. The eyes are dark brown, the neck circumference is large, and the limbs are well developed and the body is thick and short. The Kunming is excitable, fierce and aggressive. It is an excellent police dog with high vigilance and guardedness. The Kunming Dog is a breed bred by the Kunming Police Dog Base of the Ministry of Public Security. It was successfully bred in 1964 and won the Second Prize of National Science and Technology Progress in 1991 and the Third Prize of Army Science and Technology Progress.
