There are several types of Corgi There are three types of Corgi 1. Cardigan-Welsh Corgi The Cardigan-Welsh Corgi, commonly referred to as the Cardigan for short. The Cardigan Welsh Corgi, which is one of the oldest herding breeds, is longer in size than the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, with longer and heavier leg bones and a poorer texture of the hair on the back of the spine; but temperamentally, the Pembroke Welsh Corgi appears more unstable, easily agitated, and far less easily tamed than the Cardigan.
