Cut to the dog blood line a few days to recover

Cutting to a dog’s bloody line usually takes 1 to 2 days to recover, and if left untreated may lead to secondary infections that can prolong the recovery time. After cutting to the dog’s blood line, the wound needs to be disinfected with iodophor, and an antibacterial and anti-inflammatory type of ointment can also be applied. We can shine a spotlight on the dog’s nail and we can see a pink blood line, then cut the tip beyond the blood line and you are done. If the dog’s nails are black or dark, we will have to cut them slowly, first cutting off less than a third of the nail, and then using a nail file to smooth out the broken surface.
