The Pug’s body is square, medium sized and well proportioned with a strong, muscular body and two hind legs parallel to each other and perpendicular to the ground; the Pug’s coat is flat, short and smooth, soft and hard, and is mainly silver, apricot and black in color. Physically, the Pug is very compact, has good proportions, and has a hard muzzle profile. The ideal weight range is probably between 14 and 18 pounds, and the dog’s proportions are roughly similar to a square, with the tail curled up and tight on the hips. The ideal coloring for a colored Pug is one that has markings. The Miniature Pug should have one color predominant.
