Dogs can eat dates, but be sure to remove the nucleus so the dog has no problem eating date meat and can add a little vitamin. Dogs cannot digest date pits, and a small amount of date pits can be excreted in the feces. A large number of date nuclei may be expected to remain in the dog’s intestines, causing an obstruction that can only be surgically removed. If you want to feed dates to your dog, you must remove the nuclei from each date, and it is not recommended for puppies because they have poor digestion and may have diarrhea.
