Pet Vaccine Stuff: Cat’s First Immunization Protocol

We all know that all domestic cats need to be vaccinated, and most cats receive the cat triple vaccine, which is a triple vaccine that prevents three viral infections, including feline distemper, feline infectious rhinotracheitis and feline culex virus. Of course, there are also five, seven, etc. Owners can take their cats to a professional veterinary hospital to immunize their cats. The immunization process for the first cat triplet usually requires an interval of one month, after which an annual injection is sufficient, paying attention to the timing of the vaccination. The cat triplet in the kitten period is approximately three to four weeks between the first and second time, while after that the adult cat vaccination is once a year. If the cat is vaccinated for the first time, it needs to be vaccinated twice, the cat has to reach 3 months of age, and the interval between the first and second injection is 21-30 days. This is the basic immunization, which is the foundation of immunization for the cat, and after that, the annual injection is a booster immunization. In general, the third cat triple shot can be given together with the rabies vaccine, or a week apart. After that, a booster vaccination of one dose of DPT3 and one dose of rabies vaccine can be given every year. The DPT vaccine protects against three serious and deadly viruses: feline infectious rhinotracheitis virus, feline rhinoconjunctivitis virus and feline distemper virus, and can effectively improve the cat’s defense against these viruses. Immunization procedures for cats: 1. The first basic immunization for kittens is given at nine to twelve weeks of age, and the second and first vaccinations should be given at an interval of three to four weeks, and then once a year. 2. Adult cats need to be vaccinated twice if they have not been vaccinated before, and only need to be booster once a year if they have been vaccinated before. 3. Isolation and observation (immunoglobulin or serum can be injected if available). Two weeks later, determine the health before vaccination and mix the group after seven days. 4. Try to avoid de-sexing surgery and vaccination at the same time, preferably two weeks before the surgery, or if it is too late to vaccinate, inject serum or immunoglobulin at the time of surgery. Note 1. Do not bathe two weeks before and after the vaccination, if the cat has a cold, sneezing, runny nose and bad spirit, it is not possible to vaccinate. 2. After the vaccination, the cat’s immune system will start, low fever, lethargy, sneezing and reduced appetite will recover in a few days, and antibodies will be produced in about 2 weeks, if more than three days to go to the hospital for follow-up. 3. It is possible to be allergic, stay in the hospital for half an hour after the shot and observe, if there is swelling of the face and difficulty in breathing you should inform the doctor immediately and get a desensitization shot.
