Dogs with bumps and scabs on their heads are mostly considered to be caused by fungal infections, with crusts forming on the skin and with scales, and the dog shows intense itching and frequent scratching of the affected area. At this point the owner needs to trim the hair on the affected area with scissors to expose it and cover it with a warm wet paper towel to soften it and clean it off, then disinfect it with diluted hydrogen peroxide and finally apply antifungal ointment and wear an Elizabethan ring to prevent the dog from scratching and licking it.
