Symptoms of rabies in puppies are emotional agitation, unresponsiveness, reluctance to engage with people, preference for hiding in the dark, hypersensitivity to light and sound, twitching, salivation, ataxia, and aggressive behavior. There is no medication available to treat puppy rabies, and the best way to prevent it is through vaccination. Rabies vaccinations can be given to dogs at 3 months of age or older, and then every year thereafter to produce protective antibodies in the body against the rabies virus.
