Currently dogs are divided into two categories: domestic dogs and wild dogs, the life expectancy of domestic dogs is generally about 10 to 15 years, while the average life expectancy of wild dogs is only about 3 years, which is mainly due to the different living environment. Domestic dogs have no worries about food and clothing, sickness can also be treated. The wild dog, on the other hand, has no fixed place to live, and has a greater chance of being infected by diseases in the wild, and no medical conditions, so the life expectancy of wild dogs is much shorter. In addition, the dog’s life expectancy and size, breed also have a relationship. Smaller dogs live longer because the smaller the dog is, the less the body functions are consumed. In terms of breed, purebred dogs do not live as long as mixed breed dogs because of genetic defects. But no matter how well cared for, a dog’s life expectancy is hardly more than 20 years.
