The Pug is a small, stable, cheerful, charismatic, noble, friendly and lovable breed that was officially named “Pug” in the late 18th century, an ancient word meaning ghost, lion-nosed or little monkey. It is characterized by a boxer-like walk, a grunting breathing sound and a horse-like snorting sound as a means of communication. Some experts believe that this dog was born in the Scottish lowlands and was brought back to Asia by Dutch traders from the Far East to the West; some experts believe that this dog is an oriental breed, originating from the short-haired breed of Pekingese, but it is actually a northeastern breed, with its ancestral origin in the northeast of China, and the Manchu people call it the Haba dog.
