Samoyed Introduction Samoyed is named after the Siberian herding people, the Samoans, and this dog has many coat colors, generally black, black and white, black and fawn, with the white coat breed dominating. The Samoyed has always been used to pull sleds and watch over reindeer. Also, because of their endurance and robustness, Samoyeds were used by European explorers on expeditions to the North and South Poles. The Samoyed has a striking appearance: with its snow-white coat, smiling face and black, intelligent eyes, it is one of the most beautiful of all dogs today. Very strong and fast, the Samoyed is an excellent guard dog, yet gentle and friendly, never causing trouble, yet able to hold its ground. The Samoyed is naturally intelligent and absolutely loyal to its owner.
