Selecting a Pekingese looks at the body frame to be robust, but not overly fat, flexible and agile in its actions, and light and energetic looking. The shoulders and chest should be broad, the front legs should be short and inwardly curved, and the hind legs should be slender and straight and strong. The head should be large and wide, the face should be flat and wide, the head round is not good, the nose should be short and wide, and slightly upward is good. The mouth should be square and wide, the mouth crooked teeth, tongue out for the second best, around the eyes should have black hood hair, and continue to the ear as good.
