The husky is a canine, but has a close kinship with wolves, and is even the most similar to wolves of all canines. In terms of biological species, huskies belong to the gray wolf species, because huskies themselves are the descendants of snow wolves, a breed bred by the Siberians who crossed the hyena with the Arctic wolf. Therefore there are still many huskies retaining the characteristics of wolves, howling from time to time, but still with a silly and cute personality. Huskies were originally used as working dogs for pulling sleds or hunting, sometimes participating in large scale hunting activities, or protecting villages in times of danger, and guiding or guarding reindeer. The Siberian Husky is the original and ancient breed of dog that lived in northeastern Siberia and southern Greenland. The Husky derives its name from its distinctive hoarse bark.
