What’s wrong with your dog’s dry cough?

In everyday life, it is normal to hear your dog cough and dry heave occasionally. In most cases the dog’s cough is a cold and the dry heaving is phlegm. It is usually advisable to take the dog to hospital to check for lung infections. Inadequately vaccinated dogs there is a possibility of viral infections and the presence of pus or sputum is mostly considered a lung infection. Alternatively, if the dog has had this condition for a long time, a chronic infection of the bronchial tubes or a congenital problem should be considered. Finally, it is important to note that in older dogs, a dry cough with wheezing and fainting may be considered a cardiac problem. Whatever the cause of the dry heaving or coughing, it should not last longer than a week. This is because a dry cough can damage the airways and lungs. Always get checked out if necessary.
