What to do if your cat has a black chin

There are several ways to treat a cat’s black chin: firstly, choose an age-appropriate cat food, feed your cat light food and avoid food that is too greasy. Secondly, shave the cat’s chin and then clean the chin with tea water or pet wash containing peroxynivalenol. If the skin on the cat’s chin area is visibly flushed, it can be treated with a topical anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory skin spray. In severe cases, hospital treatment is recommended. In addition, the usual daily cleaning should be done, for example, wipe the cat’s mouth after it has eaten.
