What causes dogs to twitch all the time?

Convulsions in dogs are generally a neurological problem. There are many possibilities for causing convulsions, the most common being poisoning, post distemper or late distemper, epilepsy etc. Poisoning tends to occur in dogs that have been scavenging outside, and overdosing on certain medications can also trigger convulsions. In the later stages of distemper there are usually convulsions, even after cure, which are naturally caused by nerve damage. There is no completely effective cure for canine epilepsy and most of the condition is in remission.
