Alaskan Sled Dogs. The Alaskan Sled Dog, also known as the Alaskan Dog, is one of the oldest polar sled dogs, taking its name from a tribe of Inuit Inuit called the Malamute. The tribe lived on the shores of western Alaska in a region called Kotzebue. Adult Alaskan dogs have a quiet, refined temperament and are very loyal to their owners.
