The dangers of xylitol for dogs

When dogs eat xylitol, they secrete a large amount of insulin, after which their blood sugar drops dramatically and they can suffer from poisoning or liver failure, and large doses of xylitol can kill them. It has been scientifically studied that three grams of xylitol is enough to kill an adult dog. Poisoning in dogs usually occurs after half an hour and if not treated aggressively within that time, the dog’s life can be in danger and even small amounts of xylitol can cause significant damage to the dog’s liver, possibly resulting in liver failure.
