Symptoms of ear mites in cats

Ear mites in cats are not contagious to humans, but can be transmitted to other animals and need to be kept in isolation if there are other pets etc. in the home. Secondly, untreated ear mites can cause middle ear infections and even pus and bleeding in later stages. After being diagnosed and prescribed medication by the hospital, first pour ear wash into the ear canal, then gently rub the root of the ear. The purpose of this step is to dissolve the ear wax, then use a tissue to wipe away all the dirt that can be seen, and finally pour in the medication for ear mites and stick with it for a week or so, then go back to the hospital for a check-up to confirm that there are no ear mites. If the ear canal is not cleaned regularly and hygiene is not taken into account, then ear mites will return.
