Symptoms of difficult birth in cats

Difficult births in cats can be characterised by a reduced number of contractions, weakness, no foetus being delivered for 24 hours after delivery, or a second foetus not being delivered within 4 to 6 hours after the first foetus is delivered. In addition, if the cat has normal contractions but the foetus has not been delivered after 2 to 3 hours, or if the foetus enters the birth canal but does not come out, this is a sign of obstructed labour.
