There are 50 breeds of small dogs recognised by the AKC: Poodle Teddy, Bichon Frise, Pomeranian, Chihuahua, Yorkshire, Poodle, Miniature Schnauzer, West Highland, Welsh Corgi, French Bulldog, Pug, Butterfly, Japanese Pointer, Pekingese, Maltese, Dachshund, Miniature Pinscher, Shih Tzu and many more. Small dogs are a good choice for domestication, being smaller in size and requiring less time to care for.
