Small illnesses

The microviruses usually occur in unvaccinated dogs between 2-6 months of age and can take two forms: myocarditis and gastrointestinal. The gastrointestinal tract is characterised by vomiting, diarrhoea, loss of appetite, lethargy, severe blood in the faeces with intestinal mucosa and increased body temperature. This is the time to administer antiviral fluids and control secondary infections. However, watch out for complications (pneumonia, pancreatitis, intussusception, etc.).
