The main causes of Miniature Schnauzer vomiting are the following: Firstly, foreign bodies in the oesophagus cause this, when the vomit is mostly white and sticky. The dog needs to be fasted first. Secondly, if the dog vomits up food and immediately goes back to eating, then don’t worry, it is physiological vomiting. Thirdly, if the vomit is clear or white and thin in colour, this is gastric juice. It is most often seen in acute gastritis. If the vomiting is normal afterwards, there is no need to see a doctor first but fast for 12 hours. If vomiting persists, seek immediate medical attention. It may be caused by a foreign body blocking the gastrointestinal tract, or by pancreatitis, etc. Fourthly, vomiting caused by liver, kidney or gastrointestinal ulcers, when the colour of the vomit is yellow or green. Immediate medical attention is required. In short, if the dog vomits along with other undesirable symptoms, it is recommended to take it to the hospital for examination and symptomatic treatment.
