Rabies in cats

Cats can be infected with the rabies virus and can transmit rabies. The main source of infection for rabies is the animal carrying the rabies virus, not just the dog, which is the predominant domestic animal, followed by the cat. There are also pigs, cattle and horses, which can transmit rabies. The cat is mostly afraid of water and sound, and is terrified of light and odours, and has muscle spasms and salivation.
