The Pomeranian is alert, intelligent and curious, and is a small dog that generally lives to be around 13 years old on average. It is important to note that the Pomeranian has a genetic predisposition to heart disease and needs regular medical check-ups, especially after the age of seven when they start to reach middle age, and annual check-ups are recommended.
