Is a cat colour blind?

Cats are not colour blind. It was once thought that cats could only see black, white and grey, but in fact cats can also see green, blue and yellow. Although they are not sensitive to the colour of things, cats have good eyesight with a relatively large proportion of cone cells in their retina, allowing them to still have sensitive vision in a dark environment.
