Dogs with gastroenteritis can be treated with oral antidiarrhoeal and astringent medication or probiotics. If the symptoms do not improve after taking the medication, take the dog to the vet for blood and stool tests. Daily diet can be started by adjusting the diet, changing the food and reducing the burden on the stomach and intestines. Do not give your dog raw, cold, irritating food and keep him warm. It is also important to teach your dog to refuse food offered by strangers to avoid eating the wrong things and causing diarrhoea.
