Once a dog develops fungal skin disease, it is accompanied by increased hair loss and skin flakes, and in some cases, severe itching. Localised shaving is required, followed by the application of creams and antifungal medication or injections, and for generalised skin disease, medicated baths are recommended twice a week. The medication will need to be followed up weekly to see how the skin recovers.
