How to deal with cats with lumpy eye droppings around their eyes

The crusty eye needs to be cleaned. This can be done by cleaning the eye with a cleansing eye drop, while softening the discharge around the eye, and then gently wiping the discharge away with a pet eye wipe. If such eye drops are not available cool boiled water can be used instead, moisten a cotton swab and then gently wipe away the eye discharge around the eye. If the cat has an eye infection or is injured, the discharge may increase, and this type of situation requires prompt medical attention.
