Caring for an older dog does not require replacing the senior dog. If the dog is not too thin or malnourished, there is no need to supplement the dog’s protein in addition to the dog food. Some senior formula dog foods even reduce the protein content and slow down kidney ageing. Reduce strenuous exercise and have regular medical check-ups.
