There are two types of vaccines: the vaccine for dogs and the vaccine for rabies. The first dose is given to puppies at 45 days of age and 3 doses are given at 3 week intervals. 1 dose of the vaccine and the rabies vaccine (the rabies vaccine can be given together with the last dose of the vaccine). The vaccine protects against distemper, microfluenza, canine parainfluenza, canine infectious hepatitis and leptospirosis. Commercially available brands include Intervet, Pfizer and Merial (prices range from 60-130).
