Dogs with inflamed uterus bleeding

Dogs with inflamed and bleeding uterus may have acute uterine inflammation if they also have elevated body temperature and loss of energy and appetite. This can be treated systemically with ampicillin or chloramphenicol. If the uterine cervix is open, the dog can be flushed with potassium permanganate in water. The owner should also provide a comfortable mattress for the dog during the illness and induce it to eat and drink actively.
