Dogs have a well-developed vomiting centre and there are many reasons for vomiting. Some dogs fast for too long, too much acid secretion of the stomach will also vomit acid. Vomiting can also be caused by eating too much food too quickly, gastrointestinal distress, foreign or irritating food, or viral infections. If your dog vomits less often and has a normal spirit, appetite and stools, it should not be a problem and can be conditioned with gastrointestinal supplements. However, if your dog has a dry nose, is depressed and has no appetite, take him to the vet as soon as possible for a check-up.
