If the diarrhoea is caused by a gastrointestinal problem, taking oxytetracycline does work. However, it should be taken in moderation and not in excess, as it is not good for the teeth and liver. The side effects of hyoscine are greater, mainly affecting the teeth and causing hyperpigmentation, just like in humans, especially puppies. Children are not allowed to take doxycycline.
