Do cats have rabies?

Cats can also carry the rabies virus and can transmit rabies. The main source of infection for rabies is the animal carrying the rabies virus, not just the dog. Dogs are the main domestic animal, followed by cats, as well as pigs, cattle and horses, all of which can transmit rabies. Some domesticated animals can also carry rabies virus in their saliva.
