What is the difference between an Eskimo and a Silver Fox? There are three size types of Eskimos and only one standard size of Silver Fox, which is smaller overall. The Japanese Silver Fox has a longer face and the Eskimo has a rounder face and wider nose. The Silver Fox does not have a double coat, the American Eskimo does. Eskimo has three size types (size refers to shoulder height): toy type, 9 inches to 12 inches (including 12 inches); small, 12 inches to 15 inches (including 15 inches); standard type, 15 to 19 inches (including 19 inches). And there is only one silver fox standard body type (male height is 33~38cm, female height is 30~36cm; male and female weight is 6.4~7.7kg.) Japanese silver foxes are smaller and have longer faces. The American Eskimo is larger (but there are also smaller ones), with a rounder face and wider nose. The Silver Fox does not have a double coat, the American Eskimo does.
