Dog ticks are most afraid of in vitro deworming medications and alcohol, such as Foley’s and Big Pet. If your dog has a tick, it is best to use alcohol drops on the tick and wait about five minutes for the tick to be anesthetized, at which point you can then slowly remove the tick with tweezers. When taking the tick, be careful not to break the tick’s mouthparts to avoid skin infections in dogs. Never forcibly pull the tick off, it can easily lead to serious consequences. If you want to prevent your dog from getting ticks, you need to give your dog an in vitro deworming once a month, which can effectively prevent your dog from getting parasites.
