The hemostat method of tail amputation should first be done with surgical scissors and a hemostat, and secondly, before the puppy’s pain nerves are fully formed, which is about 3-4 days after the dog is born. The length of the broken tail should be estimated beforehand, usually at the second section of the tail root bone, and then clamp the hemostat. The tail is disinfected by wiping with alcohol or iodophor, and then cut with surgical scissors. Then apply hemostatic powder to the wound and wait for about 15 minutes before releasing the hemostatic forceps. The subsequent daily care is to apply iodophor to disinfect.
