Ear mites in dogs can be transmitted to people, but they are not usually easily infected. With prolonged contact with a dog infected with ear mites, a person may also get ear mites and develop symptoms such as itchy skin and rashes. So dogs with ear mites need to be treated promptly and have good hygiene at home. Dog ear mites should be treated as soon as possible. The owner can let the dog lie on his body, then lift his ears and hold them back and put canine ear drops into the ear canal to clean up the ear mites. Gently rubbing the area around the ear canal with your hand for ten seconds after the drops are applied will allow the drops to flow evenly deeper into the ear canal and fully kill the mites. This method should be adhered to once a day until the dog is cured.
