The most common methods of testing a dog’s intelligence are the table test, the chair test and the sofa test. For example, the table test involves pretending to drop food from a height while actually placing it on the table to test the dog’s observation and intelligence from his reaction. Open the bag of food in the kitchen and observe the dog’s reaction. If the dog does not react, it is not smart enough, if the dog hears a sound and comes running, it is still smart; the dog hears a sound outside by the door and chooses to stay alert and listen, it will be smarter than a dog that runs out and barks or does not care. When you take your dog out and meet an animal that is much larger than it, the dog that chooses to go around or keep a safe distance is smarter, and the dog that runs over and provokes is most likely a stupid dog. Leading the dog to the road, if you have to pull in order to make it stop, stupid dog; and know their own observation or wait for your dog, it is smarter.
