Bichon’s introduction Bichon’s introduction information

The Bichon Frise, despite its name, is nothing like a bear. The Bichon Frise is not very tall, only about 24-29 cm tall, and very thin, weighing no more than 7 kg, mostly 4 or 5 kg for females. Originally from France, the Bichon was brought to Italy by crew members in the 1300s and was loved by the Italian nobility, with its coat cut to resemble a lion’s mane. Later, they were bred by the French and Spanish nobility and royalty, perfumed and ribboned to become pleasure dogs, and were treated like aristocrats. By the latter half of the 1800s, the general public could also breed them.
