Dogs chew their feet when their owners have less company leading to boredom, anxiety and other psychological reasons. Dogs infected with bacteria, suffering from interdigital toitis, will chew their feet. It may also be that the dog has a foreign body in the paw area, or the dog has a habit of chewing paws, etc. Also called interdigital sepsis, also known as foot dermatitis, interdigital sepsis is a skin infection that occurs between the toes. The common symptoms are small foreign bodies that grow between the toes or feet, redness, and in some cases, pus sores. When your dog’s walking posture changes, or if he doesn’t like to walk or walks with his legs up, you should be concerned about whether your dog’s feet are injured or if he has toe infections.
