Labrador tail up is not impure

The tail bend is an important criterion to determine if a Labrador is a crossbreed. Tail up is just a normal reaction when the Labrador is emotionally excited, especially in the puppy period, the tail up is more common. Generally a purebred Labrador’s tail is naturally drooping and flush with the back line in a calm state, but since the tail is an important tool for the dog to express its emotions, it can also change with its mood. The most standard purebred Labrador tail is called the “otter tail”, as long as it is thick and straight, so the degree of tail curvature is the criterion for judging the purity of the pedigree, not whether it is upturned or not. Generally speaking, because puppies are not well developed, there may be a slight upward bend in the tail, but it is mostly normal and will gradually become thicker and straighter as they grow older. It is important to note that when a dog’s tail appears to be sagging and has a painful expression when swinging, then you need to see if the dog’s tail is injured.
