Originally from Hungary, it originated in the 13th century. It is believed to have originated in Tibet, China, and then came to Hungary via Turkey, where it eventually developed into the Kuvasi dog of today. In terms of appearance and coat color, it resembles the Maremma Shepherd and the Great Pyrenees, and may share a common ancestor with each other. It is a large dog, but not in the ancient sense. The coat color of this dog must be white or ivory. This dog is an excellent, intelligent, gentle-looking dog that is loved by children and makes a great companion and guard dog.
