Dogs several months to develop maturity

Most small dogs mature at 8-10 months, while medium and large dogs take one to one and a half years. Dog maturity varies on a case-by-case basis, and different breeds, feeding practices, and feeding environments can all result in different maturity times. If the owner wants to breed, it is recommended to do so during the second estrus period after the bitch has matured. At this stage, the dog’s body is mature and the reproductive system is fully developed, breeding is safer for the dog, less damaging, and the puppies born will look better.
