Puppies (dogs under 1 year of age): The following examinations are advocated: Routine examination, CBC for complete blood count, rapid test for infectious diseases, fecal examination and X-ray examination. Full blood count CBC: 2. Common infectious disease examination: 3. Fecal examination: 4. X-ray examination: For different breeds of young dogs, some corresponding skeletal examinations can be done to see if there are some breed-specific congenital defects. For example, poodles and Chihuahuas are prone to knee dysplasia. Large dogs such as German Shepherd, Golden Retriever, etc. are prone to hip dysplasia, which must be diagnosed through doctor’s palpation and X-ray. If there are no abnormalities in the above examinations, the puppy should be given complete vaccinations, regular internal and external deworming and a high quality puppy food as soon as possible.
